| so i thought, since the election is tommorrow, that i would share my opinions with those of you in cyberspace.
Prop 73: Parental notification of minor's abortions.
My vote: No.
Abused girls would not be able to get abortions safely, because telling
their parents would cause them harm. how easy is it for a 13 year old
girl to get to a courthouse and file the right paperwork, and then come
back a few days later or whatever, then face the judge, when she
obvisouly wasn't responsable enough to keep herself out of this
situation.
Prop 74: Public school teachers tenure status. would change probationary term to 5 from 2 years untill the teachers gets tenure.
My vote: Yes.
A teachers quality cannot be fully determined by a short visit by one principle. give them more time to adjust.
Prop 75: Paycheck protection act. would prevent unions from using dues for political purposes.
My vote: Yes.
Unions often favor more taxes and bigger govt. both of which i
oppose. If you've heard the ads saying they already have a choice,
don't be misled: they do have a choice, but if they choose to not have
their dues go to political purposes, they also don't have a vote in the
union policies.
Prop 76: Live within our means act.would reduce spending to the amount of our revenue growth.
My vote: Yes.
I'm always for reducing goverment spending.
Prop 77: Redistricting done by 3 retired judges
My Vote: Yes.
Not one district changed party hands during the 2005 election
due to the gerrymandering of the districts. The reps. obviously have no
drive to repersent the people as a result.
Prop 78 and 79: Drug benefits
My vote: No and No
Get rid of the welfare state. These both cost too much money to help so few.
Prop 80: Electric service providers regulation
My vote: No.
if i can't switch my company, what keeps them from charging me more? Answer: Nothing.
I will also be voting no on measures B, C, D, and E, since i think prop 172 should be repealed anyway.
